SECOND   MISSION   BAPTIST   CHURCH

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe the sixty-six (66) Books of The Holy Bible, Old and New Testaments, to be the verbally inspired Word of God.  (2 Timothy 3:16)

We believe the Bible is inerrant and infallible in the original writings, which constitutes a court of no appeal.  (John 3:33; John 17:17)

We believe God’s Word is set in place for our reproof, rebuke, endurance of all long suffering, instruction in righteousness, our correction, our repentance, redemption, reconciliation, salvation, and government.

We believe in “One Triune God”, eternally existing in Three Divine Persons, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, co-eternal, co-identical, co-equal, and all One in the same.  (John 10:30)

We believe Jesus Christ, is the eternal Son of God, became Man without ceasing to be God, and it is through His sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection, becoming our propitiator to appease God by dying for all humanity’s sin.  The Son of Man redeemed all men who believe, saving all Christians from Hell (damnation), and the Lake of Fire.  (Revelation 20:12-15)

We believe we have been born again into the New Heavenly Kingdom with no end.  (1 Peter 1:23)

We believe Jesus Christ was crucified on Calvary’s cross.  After His death, He was buried in a borrowed tomb, and early Sunday morning on the third (3rd) day, Jesus Christ rose, having all power in heaven and in earth in His hand and is now seated on the right hand of the Father (GOD).   (Matthew 27:32-56; 1Corinthians 15:1-4)

We believe Christ is The Shepherd, The Head of the Church (ecclesia-assembly of the called-out ones).  (Colossians 1:18)

We believe, based on the scripture, the local Pastor is the under-shepherd called by God for ministry (feeding the flock).  (Jeremiah 3:15)

We believe the local Church is autonomous (self-governing) by God, therefore, acting independently and having the freedom to do so.  (Matthew 28:18)

We believe God and His Word as having absolute authority in governing our daily lives, in all our affairs.  (John 3:34-35)

We believe man is sinful by nature and totally depraved.  Therefore, the whole man must be saved.  (Romans 6:23)

We believe all that are redeemed are kept by God’s power, therefore we believe once saved always saved.  (John 10:28; Romans 8:38-39; John 6:37,39)

We believe Christian liberty is not a continual license given over to the flesh to sin. (Romans 6:1-15)

We believe prayer is communicating with God.  He hears and answers the prayers of the righteous through faith, in accordance to His perfect will.  (1 John 5:14)

We believe all believers should live in a manner as to not bring reproach upon our FAITH, therefore separating ourselves from all ungodly sinful pleasures, practices, and associations.  (Matthew 6:13)

We believe Satan is a fallen angel determined to derail this world through evil violence, depravation, oppression, poverty, lust, sexually promiscuity, and ungodly discourse. Satan is the author of sin and the enemy of God and man.  He will one day reach his destructive end.  (Genesis 3:1-15)

We, the Second Mission Baptist Church, believe the “Great Commission” of our Lord Jesus Christ to give the Gospel to every creature throughout the world and is still incumbent upon every believer until we transition into our eternal home in Heaven. WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.  (Matthew 28:16-20)

We believe The Holy Bible to be the Living Word of God, currently contemporary for all Generations to walk in this present age with our God.  (Revelations 22:18-20)

We agree this written application to become our daily usage.
